Frequently Asked Questions

While sensitivity is rare, there is a “phase in" period whenever you introduce a new beauty product. Few users may experience mild irritation, dryness or redness when first using LiLash/LiBrow, however most sensitivity is found only with initial use. If you experience irritation, either reduce or discontinue the use of LiLash. Often sensitivities can occur with the use of too much product per application. We recommend using the product 2-3 times a week for the first week. Then continue use of the product as directed. If severe irritation or redness occurs discontinue use of the product. We stand by our serums with a 90-day satisfaction guarantee.

LiLash/LiBrow is a cosmetic. Continued use is necessary to maintain results. If discontinued, your lashes will gradually return to their natural cycle before use. A one to two-week break is recommended between treatments to allow the hair follicles to rest and re-stagger their normal cycle.

Like many serums and cosmetics, LiLash/LiBrow has not been tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Some serums state they are safe to use. We like to take a conservative approach, and although LiLash/LiBrow do not contain any harsh chemicals or hormones and only act locally (at the lash follicle), we recommend that if you want to use it you should consult your physician before use.

LiLash and LiBrow are not recommended for use during treatment, however many people turn to LiLash and LiBrow to help support and enhance their lashes and brows after treatment is finished.

LiLash/LiBrow were designed as cosmetics for conditioning lashes and brows, unfortunately most types of alopecia won’t benefit from the formula.

It is recommended to stop using LiLash/LiBrow 4 weeks before an appointment.  You can resume use once the scaring has healed.

It is recommended that you only apply LiLash to your upper eyelid. When applied correctly, LiLash will gently travel to the lower lashes when you blink.

Yes. LiLash is the perfect complement to your lash extensions. LiLash helps fortify and strengthen the appearance of lashes, promoting healthier lashes and less natural breakage, this allows you to enjoy your lash extensions for longer. If desired, eyelash extension wearers can also transition to using LiLash alone.

Yes LiLash has been deemed safe to use with contact lenses by optometrists. Be careful to not over-saturate the applicator brush and only use as directed.

LiLash is specifically formulated for eyelashes. LiBrow our complimentary serum, works best to enhance the fullness of your brows. LiBrow helps thicken and adds tint to create defined bold eyebrows.

No, LiBrow was specifically formulated to enhance your natural eyebrows. The formula is stronger to penetrate the thicker layer of the skin, and would be too intense for the delicate and sensitive tissue on the eyelids. Do not use LiBrow on your eyelashes.

A thorough consultation with your beauty therapist will be the best course of action. If no hair follicles are present, LiBrow will have very little effect.

The LiBrow patented brow tint contains natural botanicals that gently darken your brows by enhancing the pigment of your natural colour by one to two shades darker.

No. Bimatoprost is the ingredient used in glaucoma medicine which is applied in high concentration eyedrops. LiLash doesn’t use this ingredient and is in no way related.

Yes. Like all the top lash serums in NZ, LiLash contains a type of Prostaglandin which is a conditioning agent for the lashes. The type of prostaglandin used in LiLash only supports locally where its applied.

Hormones are produced by glands and transported in the bloodstream to act on distant areas of the body. Prostaglandins are only produced locally where they are needed and have a short life span (they’re quickly broken down).

LiLash contains a Prostaglandin not a Hormone.

Prostaglandins and peptides are commonly used in lash serums to support and to condition lash follicles. They both have short life spans and only support where applied.
